Audrey Davis-Sivasothy The Science of Black Hair Healthy Hair Growth Seminar: Maximizing Your Hair’s Potential
In this incredible session with Audrey Davis-Sivasothy, the Author of The Science of Black Hair, you will learn about the structure of your hair. You will understand the key factors of growing and maintaining healthier, longer, stronger hair. The course will cover the four major causes of damaged hair and how you can eliminate most sources of damage from your hair care routine. You will learn pointers about how to maintain a good protein/moisture balance which is a critical component to breakage reduction and is emphasized in this seminar. Other topics include the role of genetics in hair care, wet hair assessment techniques, and more. Audrey Davis-Sivasothy
Audrey Davis-Sivasothy was born in Alexandria, LA, and works as a freelance writer, publisher, speaker and consultant to the cosmetology industry. A trained Health Scientist, Audrey has written extensively on caring for hair at home. Sivasothy is author of two hair care books, most notably The Science of Black Hair: A Comprehensive Guide to Textured Hair Care. The Science of Black Hair has been featured in The Huffington Post, Essence Magazine, Sophisticate’s Black Hair, and Hype Hair Magazines. This comprehensive book has also been adopted for cosmetology training courses and continues to maintain international best seller status in the US, Canadian, UK, and French fashion/beauty book markets.
CharyJay Up Close and Personal with CharyJay
In this session with CharyJay, you’ll get a look into how a shy and timid college student blossomed into a journalist and motivational speaker through her natural hair journey. In her speech, CharyJay will discuss how she feels embracing her natural hair textured increased her confidence and ultimately allowed her to live her life to the fullest.
Charnika Jett is a journalist and videographer based in Detroit, Michigan. In 2009, she began creating and editing videos for the newspaper she worked for and shortly thereafter decided to go natural. Intrigued by her newfound curls and editing skills, she decided to make natural hair style tutorials on YouTube. Nearly three years later, she gained over 50,000 subscribers and over four million video views on YouTube.
